Rabbi
Sol Greenberg
was born in Chicago and reared in Joliet, IL. After graduation from high school,
his family moved to California where he remained throughout his undergraduate
studies and three years of Rabbinical training at the Hebrew Union College in
LA. In 1963, he moved to Cincinnati, Ohio to complete his rabbinic training.
Following ordination, he accepted the pulpit at The Valley Temple in
Cincinnati, where he served for more than 30 years.

Rabbi Michael Joseph; Julie married to Charlie; Margot, married to Howard; the
Honorable Brad Greenberg married to Pam; Andrea, married to Michael and Jeffrey
with Kim. They have also been
blessed with nine grandchildren.
Rabbi Greenberg considers himself a deeply committed Jew, a Zionist, a
believer in God, maintaining a strong sense of spirituality and respect for
tradition and ritual. He has always been active in the larger non-Jewish
community and dedicated himself to numerous social action projects.
He loves teaching children as well as adults.
Additionally, Rabbi Greenberg lectured at the Hebrew Union College, Xavier
University, The Jewish Hospital, and at temples, synagogues and churches on such
topics as “Interfaith Marriage and Family Relationships”, “Blended Family
Issues”, “Counseling the Terminally Ill Patient and His/Her Family”, and
“Rabbinic Pastoral Counseling”.
Rabbi Greenberg describes his ideal of congregational life as one where:
·
there
is a sense of family, where each individual is known by name and is respected
and appreciated;
·
the
study of Judaism is of the highest priority;
·
there
is a strong desire for social action, concern and commitment to act, and,
·
the
congregation is accepting of others, especially the non-Jewish spouses of Temple
members.
Rabbi Greenberg serves as Temple Beth Tefilloh’s visiting Rabbi,
conducting services, teaching, visiting the sick, and performing life cycle
events during his weekends with the congregation.
